Shanlin Elementary School

Some 5th and 6th grade students performed at a local English Readers’ Theater in a nearby district. They were elated when it was over, and we celebrated their hard work with snacks and bubble tea.

Shanlin Elementary School in Shanlin District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Shanlin Elementary is a school located in the rural and mountainous area in Kaohsiung. The students here are practicing their oral English skills for their unit “What do you want to be?” and to make it a bit more interesting/creative I decided to record their best attempts and create a video. This is my first attempt at making a video and probably my first multimedia endeavor outside of MS Powerpoint, so please forgive the crude video editing. 🙂

Also, that weird line at the end “May your dream come true!” is part of their unit’s key phrases and sentences. It’s kind of weird, but it’s there for the students’ sake.
